1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the Project PS unified services (the “Service”) operated by an individual operator (“Operator”), and set forth the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and other necessary matters between the Operator and users.

2. Scope and Services

  1. These Terms apply to the following websites and related features:
    • project-ps.com (problem solving and contest participation)
    • papyrus.project-ps.com (problem creation and management)
    • edu.project-ps.com (lectures / curriculum content)
    • Public board (Q&A / information sharing; public posts and comments)
  2. The Service uses a unified account system, and you can use the Service with a single account.

3. Definitions

  1. “Member” means a user who agrees to these Terms, creates an account, and uses the Service.
  2. “Content” means all materials provided or displayed in the Service, including problems, lectures, contests, notices, and related data.
  3. “User Content” means any content uploaded, posted, or submitted by a Member, including authored problems, descriptions, posts/comments, and submissions.
  4. “Submission” means source code uploaded/entered for solving problems and all related data such as judging results, timestamps, and execution records.
  5. “Board” means a public space where Members can post questions/answers or share information via posts/comments.

4. Posting and Changes to Terms

  1. The Operator will post these Terms within the Service.
  2. The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law, and will notify Members of the effective date and key changes via an in-service notice or similar means.
  3. If a Member continues to use the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms, the Member is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

5. Registration and Account Management

  1. Users may apply for membership by following the procedures set by the Operator.
  2. Members are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials. The Operator is not liable for damages caused by a Member’s negligence or fault (except where the Operator’s willful misconduct or gross negligence is proven).
  3. The only account identifier that may be publicly displayed to other users is the Nickname. The Username and Email are not publicly displayed.

6. Provision, Modification, and Suspension of Service

  1. The Operator may modify, add, or discontinue all or part of the Service as necessary for operation.
  2. The Operator may temporarily suspend the Service due to maintenance, incidents, traffic spikes, failures, or third-party service outages.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Members must not engage in any of the following:

  1. Attacking or compromising the Service/servers/judging environment (hacking, exploiting vulnerabilities, abnormal traffic, etc.)
  2. Cheating or misconduct (violating contest rules, manipulating rankings, abusing multiple accounts, etc.)
  3. Infringing others’ rights (copyright infringement, posting others’ personal data, defamation, etc.)
  4. Distributing malware or interfering with operations (including intentionally abusive submissions such as infinite loops intended to disrupt)
  5. Excessive scraping, redistribution, or commercial use without the Operator’s approval
  6. Invalid ad activities or interference with ads (invalid clicks, generating invalid traffic, click encouragement, etc.)
  7. Any other conduct that violates laws or public order and morals

8. Posting and Management of User Content

  1. Members must own the rights to User Content or have lawful permission to post it, and must not infringe others’ rights.
  2. Members must not include personal data (e.g., phone number, address) or secrets (tokens/keys/passwords) in User Content. Any disadvantage arising from posting such information is the Member’s responsibility.
  3. The Operator may hide, delete, or restrict access to User Content without prior notice (or with notice afterward) if:
    • it violates laws or these Terms,
    • there is a reasonable claim/evidence of infringement of copyrights, personal data, or reputation,
    • it harms the security or stability of the Service.

9. Board Operation

  1. Board posts/comments are public by default, and the author is displayed as Nickname.
  2. Posts/comments may include Markdown formatting.
  3. The Board does not provide a file upload/attachment feature.
  4. Members can delete their own posts/comments using the in-service deletion UI.
  5. The Operator may moderate board content (move, hide, delete) for operations, safety, and handling reports/disputes.

10. Copyright and License

  1. Copyright in User Content (including Submissions) generally belongs to the Member who created it.
  2. Members grant the Operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, transmit, process, and display User Content (including making it publicly visible as needed) solely to operate and provide the Service (judging, results, features, dispute handling, and quality improvements).

11. Visibility of Submissions (Source Code)

  1. Certain submission records (Nickname, submission time, result, rankings/contest results, etc.) may be displayed within the Service.
  2. Depending on Service functionality/policy, submitted source code may be viewable by:
    • the author of the problem, and
    • other users who solved the same problem (e.g., met the Service-defined “accepted/solved” condition).
  3. Members must not redistribute or commercially use others’ submissions obtained through the Service outside the Service without the Operator’s prior consent.

12. GitHub Integration

  1. Members may optionally link a GitHub account to use authoring features.
  2. Tokens issued/received during linking are used only for the integration purpose and are deleted upon token expiry or when the Member disconnects it in Settings.
  3. Members can disconnect GitHub integration at any time in the Service settings.

13. Advertising

  1. The Operator may display advertisements in the Service (e.g., Google AdSense).
  2. Ads may be provided by third parties, and the Operator does not guarantee ad content, quality, or legality (except where liability is required by applicable law).
  3. Members must not interfere with ad operations, including invalid click inducement or invalid traffic generation.

14. Restrictions and Termination

  1. If a Member violates these Terms or seriously disrupts Service operations, the Operator may restrict the Member’s use after prior notice (or after-the-fact notice in urgent cases).
  2. A Member may request account deletion by contacting [email protected].
  3. Handling of personal data and User Content upon deletion follows the Privacy Policy.

15. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  1. To the extent permitted by law, the Operator may limit liability for the Service provided free of charge.
  2. The Operator does not warrant the completeness, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose of problems/judging/rankings/contest results.
  3. The Operator is not liable for damages caused by force majeure or circumstances beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, telecom failures, third-party outages, etc.), except where the Operator’s willful misconduct or gross negligence is proven.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Any dispute shall be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable Korean law.
